Pebbles in the Sand

My happiest hours are spent with my toes in the gently lapping surf of a deserted beach, scanning the sand for treasures and driftwood washed in on the tide and watching the antics of the rich array of birdlife on the shore.

Having moved to the Cambrian Mountains, a pebble's throw from Cardigan Bay, in December, 2011, I find myself truly blessed with a wealth of inspiration right on my doorstep. As a felt artist I use wet felting techniques to capture the character and antics of the birds and the tranquility and wild beauty of the Welsh coast.

Do visit my online shop to see what I have available at present, and where purchases can be made through a secure payment system.

I also attend a number of events during the year, details of which can be found below.

I am happy to accept commissions, and if you have a favourite seabird or see something that appeals in the Gallery, please do contact me. As each piece is a 'one-off' creation, and the very nature of wet-felting produces quite fluid results (no pun intended!) please note that exact copies are really not possible, but I can produce something in a similar vein for you.

Felt is a hardy fabric and is easily cleaned using a pair of tights over the end of a vacuum hose from time to time (much as the National Trust do when cleaning old tapestries). Although my framed felts are available with glass on request (additional postage cost would apply) it is not something I recommend, as with glass there is a certain loss of the delicious textures.

Upcoming Events

I am presently in the process of booking this year's events. Details will appear here soon, as and when I receive confirmation of my bookings. Thank you for your patience in the meantime.
